YES's Karen Pezzetti Is Teacher of the Year!

Karen Pezzetti (pictured below in her classroom), a 12th-grade teacher at Youth Empowerment School, has been named Oakland's Teacher of the Year!

And there may be more accolades to come! This honor qualifies her for the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) Teacher of the Year Awards. At its Celebrating the Heart of Education ceremony on October 16, ACOE will select two teachers to represent Alameda County in the statewide Teacher of the Year competition!
